CoronaVirus cases have started increasing rapidly in India in last few days. All countries around the World are using different techniques to fight against CoronaVirus. India is also not behind to these Western and European countries and many apps have been launched by the Indian Government to fight and generate awareness about this virus among Indian citizens. After Corona Kavach App, Indian Government launched another app on 1st April with name, ‘Aarogya Setu’ App for both Android and iOS users.
The purpose of launching this app by Indian Government is to alert the Indian citizens regarding CoronaVirus. The Aarogya Setu App will instantly give alert to any person if he/she will come in close contact with any other person who is Corona Positive.
Aarogya Setu keeps track of Covid-19 positive patients with the help of Bluetooth and location generated social graphs.
It gives alert to the user by calculating the risk of infection based on the recurrence and closeness of contact with the infected person.

Languages Supported:
The Aarogya Setu app supports total of 11 languages. In addition to English and Hindi, the users can use this app in these languages like Gujrati, Marathi, Bangali, Tamil, Punjabi etc.
Features and Uses of Aarogya Setu App:
There are two main features of Aarogya Setu app.
Help Centers List
The first feature of Aarogya Setu app is that the users can get state wise list of Corona Help center phone numbers
Self Assessment
The second feature of Aarogya Setu App is that, it helps users to easily identify the symptoms of CoronaVirus sitting at their home. When you click on the Self Assessment option, then the App will ask few questions from you. After giving answers to these questions, the App will inform you that, if you are safe or have risk of CoronaVirus.
In addition to these features, Aarogya Setu App also gives the updates of Indian Health Ministry to its users and also gives them tips to stay protected from CoronaVirus.
Safety of Users Data
The Indian Govt. has clearly stated that, the Aarogya Setu app will not use the data of its users for any other purposes. This app makes sure that, the User’s data will be totally safe and secured. The Aarogya Setu will keep a watch on its users travel history. During the process of its installing you will have to give access to your mobile number, Bluetooth and location. Any third party will not be able to user any user’s data, because while using Aarogya Setu app the data will be stored only on user’s phone.
How users will get alert from Aarogya Setu App:-
After you have downloaded and installed Aarogya Setu app, you will be informed about the risk of having CoronaVirus based on the information collected by the app in the start. If you come in contact with a Corona positive patient and if he also has installed Aarogya Setu App in his phone, then you will immediately get an alert by tha app that you are having a risk of getting infected from CoronaVirus.
How to download and Install Aarogya Setu App for Android & iOS:
The Aarogya setu App is available to download, both for Android and iphone users. Below we are explaining step by step guide of how you can download and install Aarogya Setu App on your smartphones.
- First of all you have to open Google play store (for Android mobiles) or App Store (for ios devices).
- After opening the play store you have to type Aarogya Setu App in the top search box.
- After typing in the search box, start searching.
- The play store shows you a list of many similar type of App.
- You have to look for the App name ‘Aarogya Setu’ under which NIC eGov Mobile Apps is mentioned.
- Select this app. You will see Install option under it.
- The Aarogya setu App will be automatically downloaded and Installed on your mobile phone.
How to Use Aarogya Setu App?
Once you have downloaded and Installed Aarogya Setu App on your Android or iphone, then you must want to know that how can you use this App. The process of using this app is quite simple and is explained below in steps.
Step 1 First of all open the Aarogya Setu App installed in your smartphone.
Step 2 Once you opened the App, you will asked to choose your preferred launguage. As mentioned above, you can select any one of your preferred launguage from a list of total 11 launguages. The most common available languages are: English, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujrati, Bangali etc.
Step 3 When you select your preferred language and click on next, then you will see some information regarding the purpose of creating the app, how to use the app etc. You can read or choose to skip this information
Step 4 Now you have to turn on Bluetooth and GPS settings in your mobile.
Step 5 The Location Access option in your mobile should always be Enabled to use this app.
Step 6 Next you will the register option. Here you have to register your mobile number. After entering your mobile number, you will receive an OTP in your number. You have to verify your mobile number by entering this OTP.
Step 7 Once your mobile number registered and verified, then you will see some Terms & Conditions. You have to click on “I Agree” option in order to proceed next.
Step 8 Now the App will request the Location Access of you mobile phone. You have to Allow this access.
Step 9 After this you will receive a notification in your phone which says, that the App also wants to access the nearby other Bluetooth devices for 2 minutes.
The purpose of accessing the nearby Bluetooh devices by Aarogya Setu app is so that the app can get the travel history of these persons and check whether the nearby persons are infected with COVID-19 or not.
Step 10 Now the App will ask you to enter your personal details like Name, Age, Occupation etc.
Step 11 After entering your personal information, you will asked whether you have traveled any other country in last 30 days or not.
Step 13 If you have not visited any country in past 30 days, then just fill None there. And if you visited any country, the simply tick next to that country name.
Step 14 After entering all the above required information, you have to Click on Submit.
Step 15 If you come in contact with any COVID-19 positive person, you will be information by the App.
