There are very long highways in India, on which the number of vehicles is increasing day by day. Thus the toll plazas around the country are jammed for hours due to the increasing number of vehicles and the government is finding it difficult to monitor the vehicles. To solve this problem, the Government of India has taken a very good decision of launching a scheme named Fastag which is available through various banks like KVB i.e Karur Vysya Bank Using KVB Fastag, toll amount will be collected directly from the owners of the vehicle. This decision of the government will benefit us a lot because we have to stop the vehicle for a long time on tolls and pay the toll amount and sometimes we also have to face problems due to lack of change which wastes our time too. Fastag plans have been made to avoid all this trouble.
What is KVB Fastag?
KVB Fastag is an electronic toll collection system. It uses Radio Frequency Identification technology i.e RFID. It is like a chip. KVB Fastag is placed on the windscreen of the vehicle. As soon as your car reaches near the toll plaza, there is a sensor on the toll plaza, the sensor scans the fastag on the windscreen of your car and Fastag deducts fees from the account. And you don’t even have to stop. KVB Fastag has a validity of 5 years which means after 5 years you will have to install a new fastag on your vehicle again. You can recharge your fastag through check or credit-debit card and NEFT RTGC. It can be recharged with at least 100 rupees and up to a maximum of 1 lakh.
Benefits of Using KVB Fastag:
The Ministry of Roads and Transport has started the Fastag system at many toll plazas in the country to solve the problem of a long line of vehicles and change money. Various benefits that you can get by using the KVB Fastag are:
- Along with saving your time, your petrol or diesel will also be saved.
- Not only this, but people using it can also get a cashback on all toll payments.
- In Addition to this, you will also get rid of keeping change all the time with you while paying at toll plazas.
- Fastag Offline recharge can also be done at all branches of KVB.
- Whenever you cross a toll plaza with your vehicle having Fastag, you will instantly receive an SMS after deducting your fee from the Fastag account. You will be given information about how much amount has been deducted from your Fastag account through SMS.
